The office of the IFFK and KSCA has
finally decided to pay heed to the incoming controversies and
criticisms. The minister of films Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has
announced yesterday that the rates for delegate passes for students has
been reduced to 300 rupees instead of earlier fixed five hundred. Those
who have already paid 500 rupees can go for a refund of the amount
collected in excess when they are in the festival venues.
The ninetieth edition of the festival
will feature 150 films in various sections, which will be screened in
nine centres in three theater complexes. Chinese director Shefe will
head the jury of the festival which will have a delegate strength of
7000.A section dedicated to Turkish cinema on its 100 years will feature
the best from the country. A retrospective of world famous film maker
Nicholas Yangchow and a tribute section featuring six films of comedy
actor Brestor Keeton will also be the specialty of the year’s edition of
International Film festival of Kerala.
